Roast heaven in Devon! The best Sunday lunches in Devon…

North Devon, is a haven for foodies especially when it comes to Sunday lunching and a traditional roast. From rustic pubs nestled in charming villages to more family friendly dining with sea views, here are our personal recommendations of the best places in and around Woolacombe when staying at No. 9 Putsborough (tried and tested of course!)

The Farmers Arms at Woolsery

Best for: Stylish interiors and Sunday lunch but not as you know it!

We can vouch for the rave reviews The Farmers Arms gets; this recently refurbished pub offers ambience at every turn – from the cool interiors to the even-cooler take on a family style Sunday sharing roast.

Begin your meal with house charcuterie, potted meat and veggie pate, a tureen of steaming seasonal soup, springy homemade sourdough and hand cut crisps with a herby dip.

The main course platter of veggies, roasted meats, gargantuan Yorkshire puddings and roasties take centre stage, but try and save a little room for dessert or you’ll kick yourself later.
