A holiday at No.9 Putsborough is special for all sorts of reasons but one of our favourites is the opportunity for a lazy lie-in followed by a leisurely breakfast. Read our lovely local recommendations for you to eventually stumble out of bed for….
Meraki Coffee Co
Best for: The perfect caffeine hit to start the day
Dish to order: Smashed avocado toast topped with mushrooms, pickled red onion and sesame seeds
Meraki Coffee Co is a hidden gem, best known for the most perfect coffee in Woolacombe, but which also serves up a short but sweet menu of delicious smoothies and a selection of breakfast treats daily from 9.00am. For something a bit different, try their homemade nutty granola with mango coulis and Greek yoghurt topped with banana, blueberries & cinnamon sugar. Alongside your turmeric latte it’s the easiest way to live like a local.

South Street Food
Best for: Breakfast with a twist
Dish to order: Freshly baked pastel de nata
A newcomer to the breakfast scene in Woolacombe, artisan street food takeaway South Street Food serves takeaway breakfast burritos, wraps, pastries and fresh baked pastel de nata (SO GOOD!) from 9.00am daily. Perfect if you want to make the most of beach days – grab a bite to eat and head straight to the dunes.
New Coast Kitchen
Best for: Late risers (brunch is served till 2.30pm)
Dish to order: Shakshuka washed down with an Italian Spritz
One of our most visited brunch spots, mainly because I’m obsessed with their shakshuka. The prettiest place to eat near No.9 Putsborough which is stylish but not too posh for breakfast. As well as lighter bites including homemade granola or pancakes, there’s also miso aubergine hash and mushroom and truffle croque monsieur ensuring there are plenty of plant based, vegetarian and gluten free options to suit anyone’s diet. We’d recommend booking as this place tends to be very popular!

Lee Meadow Farm Shop Cafe
Best for: Fuelling up for your adventures
Dish to order: Waffle with bacon & maple syrup
One of the lesser-known breakfast spots in Woolacombe, Lee Meadow Farm Shop Cafe is set among 27 acres, with extensive woodland to one side and rolling hills to the others that is lush in the summer months. As you’d expect for a cafe on a campsite there are plenty of hearty options from bacon or sausage baguettes to freshly baked croissants and waffles. Breakfast is served until 12pm from May half term till the end of September. Burn off any calories by taking a trip down their on-site zip wire afterwards!
Beachcomber Cafe
Best for: One to watch
Dish to order: açai bowl and pineapple sunset smoothie
Beachcomber Cafe is currently undergoing rebuilding work and is due to re-open in February 2026. We personally can’t wait to enjoy the views across the golden sands again whilst enjoying one of their divine breakfast feasts!
